Corella x DAÖMEY #OnLocation
Watch Corella make her #OnLocation debut in DAÖMEY.
Our last episode to close the series shows why you should already know about Corella.
Through out the last few years, South London has been a catalyst for the current climate of UK music. This resurgence has been supported by the likes of Stormzy, with the first rap album to win the Brit Award for British Album of the Year, Ray Blk (BBC’s Sound of 2017 Winner) and 2018 Hyundai Mercury Prize nominee Novelist, all making sure their areas are represented and at the forefront of their music. Amongst this class of trailblazers are new names such as Corella.
It is not everyday you come across a talent with a musical pallet like Corella. Her musical influences span from Amy Winehouse, Missy Elliot, Dido, Nelly Furtado to Bjork and Cornershop. Despite being a name you may not recognise just yet, Corella has been working with some of the most credible producers and engineers on new music; Sean Oakley, N2theA, Barney Lister, Litty Beats, Nastalgia and Slim Typical.

“I write all my lyrics to inspire and aim to reveal the reality of my generation as a young girl growing up in the heart of London.” – Corella
Corella is definitely a name we will be keeping a close eye on for 2019, as she has spent the whole of this year hibernating and creating music. When we first came across her track, ‘Tiyanah’ we knew it was only right to have her perform it exclusively to wrap up our first series, in DAÖMEY.
