Last updated: 16 September 2026

Channel Alt Ltd (“Channel Alt”, “we”, “us” or “our”) takes your privacy seriously.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it and how we use and protect it. It applies when you use our website, join our mailing list, submit an artist form, attend our events or interact with Channel Alt in other ways.

Channel Alt Ltd is responsible for the personal information covered by this policy.

Registered office: 86-90 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NE
Company number: 11650648

1. Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with Channel Alt.

For example, we may collect your name, artist or stage name, email address, location, social media profiles and links to your music or creative work.

We may also collect information about your live experience, career, event attendance or interest in Channel Alt opportunities.

If you contact us, we may keep a record of your message and our response.

Where relevant, we may also collect information linked to ticketing, bookings, mailing-list preferences and marketing consent.

We only ask for information we need for the relevant purpose.

2. Artist opportunities and our artist database

Channel Alt keeps an artist opportunities database to help us discover and programme artists.

We may use this database when considering artists for Channel Alt Live, Alternative Openers, headline shows, support slots and other Channel Alt opportunities.

Channel Alt Live currently takes place four times a year, seasonally in February, May, August and November.

When you submit an Artist Interest form, we may keep your details in our artist database. This allows our team to consider you for current and future opportunities.

Registering your interest does not guarantee a booking, shortlist or response.

We generally rely on our legitimate interests when we use this database. This helps us discover artists, programme Channel Alt activity and contact people who have asked to hear about relevant opportunities.

However, you can ask us to remove your information from the artist database at any time.

3. Music and links you send us

If you send us music, performance footage, social profiles or other links, our team may review them when considering you for an opportunity.

Please make sure any links you submit are permanent, accessible and shared with the correct permissions.

If a link does not work or has expired, we may not be able to review your submission quickly.

You should only send material that you have permission to share with us.

Submitting music or creative work does not give Channel Alt ownership of that material.

4. Mailing lists and marketing

You may choose to receive emails from Channel Alt about opportunities, events, projects and other updates.

When we need your consent, we will ask you to actively opt in.

Submitting music, joining the artist database or registering for an opportunity does not automatically add you to our marketing list.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the email.

You can also contact us if you want us to update your marketing preferences.

5. Events and bookings

If you attend, perform at or work on a Channel Alt event, we may collect information needed to organise the activity.

For example, we may use your information to manage bookings, communicate with artists or representatives, administer tickets, make payments or work with venues.

We may also need to keep some information for accounting, tax, insurance or legal purposes.

The legal reason we use this information will depend on the situation. For example, we may need it to manage a contract, run an event or meet a legal requirement.

6. Photography, filming and recordings

Channel Alt events may include photography, filming or audio recording.

We may use this material to document our events, create editorial content, promote Channel Alt activity or maintain our archive.

Where appropriate, we may provide extra information about filming or photography at the event itself.

If the material includes personal information, we will handle it in line with data-protection law.

7. When you contact us

If you email us, use one of our forms or contact us through social media, we may use the information you provide to respond.

We may also keep a record of the conversation where it remains useful to our work.

In most cases, we do this because we have a legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and managing Channel Alt.

8. How we use your information

We use personal information only where we have a clear reason to do so.

For example, we may use it to manage artist opportunities, run events, respond to enquiries, operate our mailing list, process bookings or meet legal requirements.

The legal basis we use will depend on the activity.

In some cases, we rely on legitimate interests. In others, we may rely on a contract, a legal obligation or your consent.

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

9. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information.

However, we may use trusted services and partners to help us run Channel Alt.

These can include website and hosting providers, Google Workspace, online forms, email platforms, ticketing services, payment providers, venues, event contractors, professional advisers and advertising or analytics platforms.

Some providers process information for us. Others may act as separate data controllers under their own privacy policies.

We only share information where there is a clear reason to do so.

10. Google Forms and other online services

Channel Alt may use Google Forms, Google Workspace and similar services to collect and manage information.

For example, information submitted through an artist form may be stored in a Channel Alt Google account or linked spreadsheet.

We may also use other third-party platforms to operate our website, mailing list, events or business systems.

Those providers may have their own privacy policies.

11. Information stored outside the UK

Some technology providers may store or process information outside the United Kingdom.

When this happens, we take appropriate steps to protect your information and follow UK data-protection rules.

Where required, we use suitable safeguards for international transfers.

12. How long we keep your information

We only keep personal information for as long as we need it.

How long we keep it depends on why we collected it.

For example, artist information may stay in our database while it remains useful for future Channel Alt opportunities. We may remove information that is outdated, inaccessible or no longer relevant.

If you join our mailing list, we may keep your details while you remain subscribed.

When you unsubscribe, we may keep limited information so that we can respect your marketing preference.

We may keep booking, payment and financial records for longer where accounting, tax or legal rules require us to do so.

13. Your privacy rights

UK data-protection law gives you a number of rights. Depending on the situation, you may be able to ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information.

You may also have the right to object to certain uses of your information, receive certain data in a portable format or withdraw your consent.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object to that use of your information.

Not every right applies in every situation. However, you can contact us if you want to make a request or ask a question about your information.

Email: management@channelalt.com

We may need to confirm your identity before completing some requests.

14. Removing yourself from the artist database

You can ask us to remove your information from the Channel Alt artist opportunities database at any time.

To do this, contact us and tell us that you would like your artist profile removed.

Leaving the artist database does not automatically change your marketing preferences.

Likewise, unsubscribing from marketing emails does not automatically remove you from the artist database.

If you want both removed, please make that clear when you contact us.

15. Marketing preferences

You can withdraw your consent to marketing at any time.

The easiest way is to use the unsubscribe link in one of our emails.

Once you unsubscribe, we will stop sending marketing covered by that subscription.

However, we may still contact you where the message relates directly to an enquiry, booking, event or artist opportunity you have asked us about.

16. Cookies and website analytics

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies.

Some cookies help the website work correctly. Others may help us understand how people use the site or measure advertising activity.

Where the law requires consent for non-essential cookies, we will ask for it before using them.

You can also manage cookies through your browser or any cookie controls available on our website.

17. Children

Channel Alt’s general website, artist database and mailing list are not specifically designed for children.

Where an opportunity has an age requirement, we will make this clear.

If we learn that someone has provided personal information in a situation where extra parental or guardian permission is required, we will take appropriate action.

18. How we protect your information

We take reasonable steps to keep personal information secure.

For example, we limit access to people who need the information for Channel Alt’s work.

We also use trusted services and account controls to help protect the information we hold.

However, no online service can guarantee complete security.

19. Links to other websites

Our website, forms and emails may contain links to other websites, streaming services or social platforms.

Channel Alt does not control those services.

Therefore, this Privacy Policy does not explain how those third parties use your information.

You should check their own privacy information where appropriate.

20. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how Channel Alt has handled your personal information, please contact us first.

Email: management@channelalt.com

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection.

21. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Channel Alt changes its services or when privacy rules change.

When we make an update, we will publish the latest version on this page.

We will also update the date shown at the top.
